Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test

Job Description:

As a Senior SDET in a hybrid position, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by combining software development and quality assurance expertise. You will collaborate closely with the development and QA teams to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases that rigorously evaluate the performance and functionality of software applications. This role requires a strong software development background, deep testing knowledge, and the ability to bridge the gap between development and testing teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Test Automation Development:

   • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web, mobile, or desktop applications.
   • Utilize programming languages and automation tools to create robust, maintainable, and scalable test code.

2. Test Strategy and Planning:

   • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA teams to define comprehensive test plans and test cases.
   • Participate in test strategy discussions to ensure testing aligns with development goals.

3. Quality Assurance:

   • Conduct functional, performance, security, and regression testing to identify and report defects.
   • Ensure the overall quality and reliability of software products through continuous testing and validation.

4. Code Review and Collaboration:

   • Participate in code reviews with development teams to identify and address issues early in the development cycle.
   • Foster collaboration and effective communication between development and QA teams.

5. Performance and Scalability Testing:

   • Create and execute performance tests to evaluate system scalability, responsiveness, and stability under various conditions.
   • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and issues.

6. Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD):

   • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing on every code commit.
   • Ensure the reliability of automated test execution as part of the CI/CD process.

7. Test Reporting and Documentation:

   • Generate detailed test reports, documenting test cases, defects, and performance metrics.
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation for test frameworks and automation processes.

8. Mentorship and Leadership:

   • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior SDETs and QA engineers.
   • Share knowledge and best practices to elevate the testing capabilities of the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in software development and software testing, with a focus on test automation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and test case design.
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker).
• Experience in performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
